Our Story

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Asian communities in the United States faced heightened anti-Asian sentiments, adding stress to an already challenging time. For many leaders, this created the need to reflect on their own experiences, narratives, and responses to these issues, both personally and professionally.

As Asian women coaches, we saw an opportunity to support leaders by offering culturally relevant coaching that addressed these nuanced challenges. At the same time, we found ourselves seeking a sense of community—a space where we could connect with others who understood the unique experiences of being both Asian and coaches in a time of uncertainty. We also realized that Asian coaches are significantly under-represented in the coaching profession, a gap we sought to address.

This shared need led to the creation of the Asian Women Coaching Collective (AWCC). Our mission is to provide a space where Asian coaches can belong, collaborate, and share best practices in culturally relevant coaching. Over time, AWCC has also evolved to serve as a resource for all coaches interested in deepening their understanding of how culture and heritage shape behavior, leadership, and growth, so they can incorporate these insights into their coaching practices.
